Deja Zarif, the manger at NTN Tacoma comments "When Abadi first came into the store, he was wrapped in a towel. His lower half looked crushed and he was clearly in pain. He was severely malnourished and emaciated. Within seconds we put him in a carrier and headed towards Brown's Point Veterinary Clinic. This is where he was attended to by Dr. Liane Sperlich. The best! It didn't look too likely that he would survive. Dr. Sperlich said it looked like it had been at least 3-4 days since Abadi had been hit by a car."

X-rays were taken and they revealed that he had a fractured pelvis and dislocated back leg. He also had tremendous swelling and road rash throughout his body. After waiting 2 weeks for the swelling to go down it was confirmed that he did not need to be operated on, but he had to be confined for 4-6 weeks so that he could heal.

"We immediately started him on a natural diet of raw, canned and kibble pet foods. About two weeks into his recovery, we started exclusively feeding him Peppercatz raw meals - both turkey and chicken. He loved it! He gobbled it up at every serving, and finally began gaining weight" according to Deja.

With plenty of love, patience and a healthy diet, Abadi slowly regained his health, energy and even played along with the other kitties at the store. A few months later, Abadi was adopted by a loving family who are also owners of a Greyhound rescue. "It was love at first sight for dog & cat!" according to Deja. Abadi, meaning "eternal" lives on to share his story of love and courage against all odds!
